First Day of Summer....SWIM LESSONS!!

The first official day of Summer and the kids are already having a great time!  Noah and Julian started their swim lessons out at the pool and my mom met us for lunch and swimming after!  Jamie came out to hang with us too!  We all enjoyed the sun (thankfully it decided to come out and shine on us) and the warm air.  The pool was so quiet, it was just us for the entire time we were there.  Noah and Julian played until their fingers were literally raisins.  I had to make an executive decision and take Naomi out of the pool because she was shivering and blue-lipped.

I snapped a few pictures of boys during their lessons.  Lots of kick-board stuff and free style arms today.

Before we left Auntie Jamie made Naomi a Fairy Princess crown and I swear this kid couldn't be any cuter if she tried.

Julian Graduates Preschool!!

Julian graduated preschool last Friday.  It was the sweetest thing ever.  I really had to hold it together because when Miss Robyn hit play on the stereo and the graduation march started the tears welled up instantly.  Then the graduating kids walked up the stage in their little caps and good grief, even I'm surprised I wasn't a blubbering mess.  Julian waved at us and smiled alot, but wasn't interested in singing the songs.  He was pretty shy up on the stage actually.  He decided it would be funny to fall over and got alot of laughs, so of course he did it a couple more times for good measure.  His comic relief was much needed for this mama.  Also, the little boy next to him had this priceless look on his face the whole time…he was so mad to be up on the stage - or at his parents, I couldn't figure out which.

Julian had such a wonderful year of preschool.  He has learned so much since August, colors, shapes, numbers, letters, patterns.  He also learned how to express his feelings with words and how to talk through problems with his friends.  He is writing his name legibly and for some reason that is the most exciting thing for me.

Next year Julian will be at Castlemont again, but in the Transitional Kindergarten class.  It's the first year for T-K at the school and the second year for it in the district.  I'm happy he gets the chance to continue to prepare for Kindergarten and build on the skills he learned this year.  Also that he gets to do it at a school he has become familiar and comfortable with.  I'm so proud of my little Juju and what awaits him in his elementary school career!

PS - the clip on tie was all Julian.

And there's the face!  look at the kid next to Julian!  Classic!

Disneyland, Take 1000

Yup, we went again.  I was certain it was a bad idea but I really wanted to go.  Our passes expire soon and I am not sure when we would be able to go again before then so I kinda forced the trip.  Guess what - it was a really relaxing and low key visit!  YAY!  We got the Anaheim on Friday night, which was the 24 hour day.  Thankfully we had the right mind set to avoid that and we are glad we did because we heard the next morning that it was insane….so may people and tons of kids there for grad night.  So Saturday and Sunday were so mellow and practically empty!  We got on lots of rides and wandered around.   Tried a few new rides and a few new places to eat (new to us, not the park).  Ye really had a great time.  And guess what, I want to go back already.  We should just move there.  I can get a job as Belle - don't you think I'd be a great princess?  I do.  LOL.   Ok, enjoy the pictures.
