I Am A Pizza...

Today I got to join Julian's preschool class on a field trip.  They went to Pizza My Heart to learn how pizza is made…and of course to make a personal pizza and eat it!  All the kids were good listeners, followed directions and paid attention to the manager giving the tour.  The class was lead around to the back of the restaurant to see where the employees wash their hands and get the ingredients they need to make pizza.  Then they learned how pizza is made and watched a step by step demonstration by the pizza maker.  The class thought it was pretty funny when the pizza maker threw the dough into the air and let it land on Julian, covering his head and shoulders!  After that it was time to make pizza!  Everyone worked so hard to follow the directions they had learned, and made mini pizzas to their personal liking.  I didn't even see anyone eating toppings (besides the younger siblings that tagged along).  Julian made his favorite kind - ham and pineapple.  5 minutes later and it was time to eat!  Yum yum - best part of the field trip!  Julian had such a fun time and enjoyed the left over pizza as an appetizer to dinner tonight.

Julian rode the bus!  He's such a big boy!

Talking about pizza before we go inside

Listening to the store manager

Everyone got a shirt!

Starting the tour.  I love the expression on Julian's face!

In the back of the restaurant - seeing where everything is stored

Being told to not go near the oven - it's 550 degrees HOT

Fun pizza demonstration!  Starts out with a little bit of dough...

Whirls it around and stretches it...

Spins it above his head…

and drops it on top of Julian!

Pizza making time!

Start with a circle of sauce

Fill in the circle with cheese, more sauce and toppings.  Julian made cheese (lots), ham and pineapple

I made this little pizza for Naomi (she devoured it - after it was baked of course)

Naomi got to eat handfuls of mozzarella cheese while we waiting for the pizzas

She loves cheese!

Coloring while they wait for their pizzas to bake

Fresh out of the oven!  Time to eat!
